All six doctors are members of the American Veterinary Medical Association, as well as state and local associations. They have all been active in veterinary organizations, civic groups, and their churches.
To assure that they offer the latest in every phase of pet care, all doctors and staff participate regularly in continuing education. |

Tad H. Marvin, DVM
Bellevue Animal Clinic
After graduating from Hendrix College, Dr. Marvin received his DVM degree from Louisiana State University in 1986 and has been at Bellevue Animal Clinic ever since. He concentrates his efforts in Internal Medicine and Surgery. He also has additional continuing education in Ultrasound Diagnostics.
He and his wife, Annette, have two adult daughters. Whether at work or at home, he is surrounded by women. Even his two Westies are females. He enjoys fishing and playing racquetball. The family attends Christ the King Catholic Church.
Oh, and don't let the LSU degree fool you. He likes nothing better than for the Razorbacks to beat the LSU Tigers.
Emily Gabbard, DVM
Bellevue Animal Clinic
Dr. Gabbard joined the Bellevue staff in June of 2006. She has been a practicing veterinarian since graduating from Oklahoma State University in 1997. Dr. Gabbard treats canine and feline patients but has a special affinity for felines. Her “children” include: Tasa, a 15-year-old Basenji; Pippin and Kitty Lloyd, 6-year-old Cornish Rex cats; and Tabitha, a 3-year-old Domestic Shorthair.
When she is not at the “office”, Dr. Gabbard enjoys camping, hiking, and running. She is married to Dr. Rawn Gabbard, a veterinarian who owns a small animal practice in Conway, AR.
Nicholas R. Finn, DVM
Maumelle Animal Clinic
Dr. Finn, with his two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. June on the left and Jake on the right. Dr. Finn is the hospital director of Maumelle Animal Clinic, which opened in November of 1984. He is a small animal practitioner and member of the American Veterinary and Arkansas Veterinary Medical Associations. Prior to opening Maumelle Animal Clinic, he was on staff for six years at Bellevue Animal Clinic of Little Rock. He enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, but has a special interest in veterinary endoscopy.
Dr. Finn, reared in central Arkansas, graduated in 1974 with high honors from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Animal Science degree. In 1976, he received his Masters degree in Veterinary Science, and in 1978, his Doctors degree in Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Finn and his wife, Marcia, attend church at the Fellowship Bible Church of Little Rock. They have three daughters: Jessica, Leah, and Sarah. Sarah is currently attending the college of veterinary medicine at Louisiana State University and will be graduating with the class of 2014. They also have two dogs: Jake and June, both Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. In his spare time, Dr. Finn enjoys camping, whitewater kayaking/canoeing, fishing, duck hunting, taking care of his koi (Japanese carp), and water gardening.
April D. Overton, DVM
Maumelle Animal Clinic
Dr. Overton with her Silky Terrier Ash and Yorkshire Terrier Mia. Dr. Overton joined Maumelle Animal Clinic in 2007 after graduating from Louisiana State University in 2007. Prior to entering veterinary school, Dr. Overton grew up in central Arkansas and attended Arkansas State University at Jonesboro for her undergraduate studies. Dr. Overton is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association. She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine but emphasizes in internal medicine.
Dr. Overton has two step children, Emily and Alex with her husband, Russell. They also have three other "children" which include: Ash, a Silky Terrier; Mia, a Yorkshire Terrier; and Sushi, a black shorthaired cat. Outside of the clinic she enjoys spending time with her family and outdoor activities including camping and kayaking.
Douglas A. Winter, DVM, Dipl. ABVP
Treasure Hill Pet Hospital
Dr. Winter has practiced at Treasure Hill Pet Hospital since graduating from Oklahoma State University in 1990. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, a post-graduate specialty board for general practitioners. Dr. Winter concentrates his efforts in internal medicine and soft-tissue surgical cases. He enjoys playing golf, fishing, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Angela, have a son and daughter and two cats.
William R. Roberson, DVM
Treasure Hill Pet Hospital
Dr. Roberson graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1965 and started Treasure Hill Pet Hospital in 1969. The hospital moved to its present location in 1978. Dr. Roberson enjoys the outdoors and has a special interest in surgery. He and his wife, Mary Lynn, attend church at Grace Presbyterian. They have three grown sons, a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter, Josie. They also have one large mixed breed dog and a white cat.
